James E. Baker, CCIM, GRI

James E.(Jim) Baker has been a REALTOR® since 1977. Professionally, Jim has earned the designations of CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) and GRI (Graduate REALTORS® Institute). In addition, Jim is a state licensed certified appraiser. He is also a past president of the Southern Indiana REALTORS® Association, a past chairman of the Commercial Investment Committee for the Indiana Association of REALTORS® of which he also served as a Director from 1987 to 1991. In 1989 Jim became a RPAC (REALTORS® Political Action Committee) Life Member and in 1993, Jim was appointed to the Board of Directors for the newly formed Indiana Commercial Board of REALTORS®. In 1994 Jim was selected as the REALTOR® of the Year and 2006 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame for the Southern Indiana REALTORS® Association. In addition, Jim is an active member of the Kentucky CCIM Chapter, where he serves on the board of directors, the Kentucky Real Estate Exchangors, the International Council of Shopping Centers, is on the Board of Directors for the Building Trade Association of Southern Indiana and the Kentucky Commercial Real Estate Alliance and is on the GRI Board of Governors for the Indiana Association of REALTORS.

However, Jim's main activity is selling and leasing real estate in the Southern Indiana and in the Louisville, Kentucky metro area. In 1998 The Jim Baker Team was the number 1 team in units sold in the entire Century 21 North Central Region, and in 1999 Jim was inducted into the Century 21 Hall of Fame. Since 2004, Business First Newspaper has listed Baker Commercial Group among the top Louisville area commercial brokers and in 2006, Baker Commercial Group was selected as one of the finalists for the "rising star" award given by the Southern Indiana Chamber of Commerce.

Jim is a life long resident of Southern Indiana. He graduated with high honors from the University of Louisville and was a high school teacher and performing member of the Louisville Orchestra prior to his real estate career. Jim and wife, Kim (who is also a real estate broker), have 6 children and 5 grandchildren and currently reside near Charlestown, Indiana.
